haha, that was me who originally posted that last "vtec" thread.

Snoopy, is it you who has those dyno-charts for the vtec motor? post em again. Let the noobs see the *MASSIVE* increase of the Vtec! Raaaaarr! lol..

If you noobs think Vtec pulls hard, you've obviously never driven a real car. Twin Turbos? Now thats a kick in the nuts.

no way dood. If you want a kick in tha nutz you gotsta get nawz. 2 Big bottles.

Anyway, here's a b20 side by side with a b18c. You can see the advantage in HP you get from VTEC. The B20 power fades at about 5800 rpm where the VTEC engine just keeps pulling to about 7000, while continuing to increase hp.

Like I said, there is an obvious communication prob.
A lot of people describes VTEC as the shiznit of Honda's engine, and I pretty much believed them until I got my GS-R :/

See what happens when you listen to honda kiddies? you get garbage for truth from em.

hey, dont worry vtecnoon, me and you both bought into it. On the upside, hey! you still get great gas mileage compared to other sports cars!

So spread the word. To other people i have met who wanted to buy a prelude, civic SI, or a GSR because of the "mad crazy vtec yo!" I tell them the truth...its hardly noticeable. At least theyre educated now.

hehe, i don't regret the purchase at all
it's a really great ride imo, much better than the lemon I used to drive :/

got it for 8500
Red milano 98 GS-R with 72000 miles on it
it just has a faded spoiler (now gone after waxing), a few dings and I think the remain of a bird shit on the paint... dunno if this will be removable... I didn't notice it when I bought it :/

the thing about vtec was that it was explained by people who didn't even own one :/ and the only friend I knew who own a VTEC engine (S2000) never drove other Honda. The S2000 VTEC was seriously a hard kick... you can really feel the car pulling after 6000 RPM, just like a turbo

oh and since we are dealing with rookies here... let me throw a few more n00b questions

1) Is there a Remote hatch/trunk release from the driver seat? I've been looking it for weeks... and I still can't find it...

2) In attempt to awake the VTEC that I thought didn't kick in, I reset the computer, and now the audio deck is blinking with a code at me... I guess it asks for the anti-theft code. Where can I retrieve it? (I don't have the manual:/)

3) I'd like to add a new intake and exhaust to it. How do SRI perform soundwise? I read here and there you get a very high pitched sound from SRI... how annoying can it be? What would be a quiter solution for the intake without having it to be a CAI?

=)
