Valve float?
My question is; What does "valve float" sound like. Is it just some ticking noise or what? I'm concerned because I'm always vtec-ing my shit around town and when idling, my motor seams to tick a little (although it idles smooth and stedily at 750 rpm) I was told that this is just classic VTEC motor traits.
Yes I searched.
I know that I have fairly new NGKs, cap and rotor. Sometimes when I drop the rev, the motor seems to dip down to like 500 rpm for a second. Is that normal?
Please Help

no Valve float will sound like your car not running. Clicking is O.K. that's typical Honda.
Valve float is when you rev your engine so fast that the valves never fully close. Essentially the valve springs aren't strong enough to close the valve quick enough. The cam ends up whipping around and 'slapping' the valve open again rather than smoothly opening it.
Additionally, this can be almost as bad as busting a timing belt as when you have an "interference" engine as I believe most of us do... If you open the valve at the wrong time, the piston can smack into it. In case you were wondering... that's BAD!
100 bucks says you haven't experience valve float. Valve float is much more common on something like a Volkswagen Rabbit that's been hopped up but the valve springs haven't been swapped out. Our motors are designed to rev FAST.
