I'm looking at buying some new wheels and R-compound tires for my GSR. I've decided on Toyo RA-1s and Kosei K1 Racing rims. Now the question is what sizes? I'd prefer to stay with 15" rims, but would consider 16" if experienced trackers recomend it. In either case, what's the widest possible width I can get without causing rub. 215? 225?
This is for the track, not autoX. And the car still has the stock suspension (for now).
I have a 98GSR 2Door with Eibach ProKit and Koni Yellows.
Drop should be 3.5/2.5, wheels are 16X7 38mm offset.
I had dunlopSP9000 225/40/16, only rubbed when doing a fast u turn.
Well, I'm running 215/40/17 lowered ~2 inches and rubbing on the hardest of turns. I've seen R-compound 225's fitted on stock Integras on the stock 15" wheels for autocross only (and the rears will occasionally rub).
