HELP all mechanics need help
This is my first time here I have a 99 sol with a 99 GSR SWAP 5 speed. here is my dilema..
Okay, I checked the timing to see if it had jumped a tooth or two. It was right on point we matched up the cams and the little pointer down below and it had not jumped anything so I can rule out the timing belt jumping a tooth.
We checked the rotor and cap and took the cap off too look inside the distributor and nothing was fried and I would not say its the distributor cause I got the car started and we let it idle for 30 minutes and nothing was abnormal, if it was the distributor it would have gonne out I would think. Im getting fuel and spark as well.
Now the car was wanting to turn over, then it did not, then i gave it gas and tried to turn it over again and it started super rough and then backfired into my intake, I turned the car off at that time. I then started it back up and it started and we let it just idle....after a few minutes we gave it gas and from 1rpm to about 3rpm its wanting to bog down and almost shut off...then we got it to 3 rpm and from 3rpm on I can give it gas all day it responds just fine with not boggin, but once I let it go below and it hits 2rpms if I give it gas again anywhere below 3rpms it does bog down and chokes up....
The fuel filter was replaced, sparks were replaced , I dont think its timing cause the belt is on point with the marks, and i dont think its the distributor cause we let the car run for like 20 to 30 minutes and it idled fine and it did not go out only when I gave it gas from 1rpm to 3 rpm did it want to cut out or bog down on me. My mechanic doesnt know too too much about hondas so he wanted too see if someone here could point him in the right directions as for what else to check out. Maybe sensors? Hopefully someone can steer me in the right direction here or maybe someone has had the same problem and can tell me how they fixed it. It is getting spark and fuel but bogging when you give it gas from 1rpm to 3rpm...thanks in advance for helpfull comments.
Its a 93 S model with a 99 Acura GSR Swap that has been on there for 2 years with no issues.
Thanks Mike

So I changed the spark plugs and fuel filter thinking that might solve the problem. It did not. My buddie is telling me to change the cap and rotor and coil after that if it still doesnt work. Does this sound like it might be a distributor failing or a bad cap and rotor or coil?

Nah thanks Rob for telling me to put the Cap and Rotor in you were right that was the problem, lets hope nothing else goes wrong with it now. SO lets try and get together so we can install the carbon fiber interior kit sometime this upcoming week, OH YEAH I got a surprise for you when I see you tonight (I think we are all going out tonight for Alex's B-day)...and the surprise aint going to be your momma in my passenger seat either lol..give me a buzz after work.
