Default 2000 Gs-r

I've got a 89 Integra that's getting a little too old. I'm thinking of buying a GS-R to replace it. I've seen a lot of 2000 and 2001 GS-Rs for sale. Are there any known/common problems with these cars?

I'd probably want to buy from a dealer to get a warrenty. Generally speaking what kind of price should I pay and how much should I be able to negotiate off the asking price?

My other option is a new Mazda Protege ES. With the current rebates I figure I can get one for around 12,700 without tax. What kind of GS-R should I be able to get for that kind of money.

Thanks,

I have a 2000 GSR and have not had 1 problem other than replacing the driver's side window motor which was covered under warranty.

Perhaps there is a glut in the market from people trading in for a RSX or maybe all the rebates on new cars have driven down the price of used cars, but I've seen many listed for 14k to 17k. I doubt it's were I live since I'm close to NYC. Maybe these deals don't include a warrenty and the warrenty will bump up the price.

I checked edmunds and they say 15.5k for a top condition 2000 gsr but then they added an extra 1k for the warrenty. I'm guessing 16k is a good deal... Guess I should look at the 98s as suggested
