Default shortening shifter

isnt just cutting the shifter itself the same as buyin a short shifter, or does the short shifter have somethin else in comon that makes the throws shorter. Just wondering cuz ive heard of people doin it, they prolly just did it for the look.

just for the look. a REAL short shifter just raises the pivot point on the shifter. shortening the length will have have a shorter shifter but not shorter throw.

Slacker just got a Skunk2 SS in his Civic and that thing is great...I cannot believe how much of a difference it made in shortening his throws between gears. That will probably be one of my next mods to my Teg.

you know...after having my Skunk2 short shifter for so long, it doesn't seem short anymore.

The skunk2 shifter is awesome. I also put in new shifter bushings to soften the harder shifting. Big difference. :bigok:

I drove my mom's Celica the other day and it comes with a stock short shifter. I couldn't believe it...to shift, I literally just punched my foot down with a quick jerk of my hand. It was SOOO much faster than my teg's shifting, not to mention more fun (and with a lesser chance of grinding). So now I'm going to get a B&M short shifter (I know not as good as Skunk2 but twice as cheap..) with a Skunk2 shift knob (good bit heavier than my stock one). This should not only lower my 1/4 mile ET but also make driving more fun. All for just 114 bucks
(This includes B&M shifter, Energy Bushings, and Skunk2 knob)

The same goes for me, but for my B&M...you get used to it after a while, until you feel someone else's stock shifter, then its whoa all over again.
