Default Total estimate for wrecked gs-r

well, i haven't been on here in a long time. but after about 4 days, we got the final estimate for fixing my gs-r after i was run off the road. ~$11,000. no bull****. i didn't even want to know what they needed to do with it, but i can tell you everything from the firewall forward needed to basically be replaced. i drive a dodge durango now. i like it, it is comfortable, and it is nice being able take my mountain bike to the good trails now. but dammit, i miss my integra. the sound, feel, looks...i miss it all:squint:

anybody in the df/w area have a gs-r they'de let me drive???? even if it is just around a parking lot! puh-leeeezze!

and yes, they did total it out. and now were are fighting with insurance depot. they want to give us $3000 for the car. bull****, that car was worth $7500. but we said we would take 5g's if they gave the car back also.

thats not how much money i was going to get, that is how much it was going to cost to fix the car. but it was only worth $7000-$7500. so they totaled it and now we are trying to get as much money as we can out of them. if we can get $500, and the car back, i could part it out for another few thousand dollars.

I feel ya man, my car was totalled about a month ago

I thought that they get the price of your car from CCC where they take about 10 cars that are the same year/trim and miles then average them out and give you that price? That's how my insurance company got the value of my car. BTW what year is your car and did you have any mods?

i meant if you were going to put 11 grand into fixing it up, you should just buy a new one.

well, we talked to them a couple days ago and this is what they did. first, my windows were down when the wreck happened and no one put them up. the car was left out in the rain with it's windows down, and after it stopped raining they went out and appraised it. when they appraised it, they said it was an RS integra because there was no DOHC VTEC plaque in the back. so they looked up a bottom of the line integra to get a baseline quote, then subtracted part because they said the interior was in bad condition. idiots piss me off.
it was a 1994 gs-r. i had 9 month old gs-r wheels(still 94-95 style), short ram intake, and a muffler for mods. but i just had the engine mounts, clutch, and axles replaced. and the only things that were wrong with the interior was a little cigarette burn in the passenger seat. everything else was as good as it gets in an 8 year old car.

WTF your insurance is gay as hell. Who do you have? They are supposed to take your VIN # and decode it to see what trim level it was and what options it had etc etc. That's how they did mine.. I think if you have receipts for some of those things you can also get some of that back, depending on your policy and which insurance co. you have.
