Is Quaife a good dif. to go with? Mine is whining very loud at 50 mph. I don't want to put a shitty stock one back in it. Has anybody ever bought an aftermarket gear kit, and did you like it? Any info would help.

 

I wouldn't say that the stock one is shitty because I have 130K or so on my original one but the Quaife is a very good one to go with and this is the one I plan on going with at some time.

 

Quaife is awesome if you have the money...they run upwards of $800+, so its a pricey modification if youre not swapping it in yourself.

For the most part, an OEM R LSD can be had for around $300, and works just fine. Not as nice as the Quaife, nor does it come with a lifetime warranty, but its nothing most people would notice in terms of a performance difference.

 

My 98 GSR had 63000 miles of pure hell put on the tranny and i had no trouble out of the stock dif. My 99 Gsr has 20525 miles on it. One night at the strip is all it took. 5 passes then i left. Then it started whining real loud. Thanks for the info so far:thumbup:
