Default First Gen Integras...

...I used to have one until it met it's untimely death at the hands of an '83 Buick Skylark . Even with 120,000 on the clock, it was still running great. Do y'all think I can still find one (it has to be cheap because the truck took all my money)? I'd love to drive one again, especially with a manual tranny (that's the only way to truly enjoy it, IMHO).

I see them for sale all the time. Good little cars. Mind you, the 86-87 models will act slightly different then the 88-89 models due to minor engine differences (mostly electronics) and slightly different gear ratios depending on the transaxle type (the manuals had a different 5th, and the autos had a different 3rd and 4th)

I had an '87. Engine said Honda on it. I guess that was before Acura got it's own logo and whatnot. Great car. I'd probably still have it if it weren't for the accident.

To my knowledge, all Acura engines say Honda on them. All Integras did, I'm pretty sure all Legends and Vigors did... I'll have to check my father's '03 3.2 CL but I'm pretty sure it says Honda also. It's cheaper that way.

Some of the engine pictures on Acura's website have the Acura logo on them...but they never show the whole engine. I wouldn't think it would cost that much more to make different valve covers with the Acura logo on them (unless they're like the $800(?) Mugen valve covers). I'm sure all the other parts say Honda on them though. Half the parts in my VW had Audi logos stamped on them, but I guess that's different, they sell both brands everywhere. Honda only sells the Acura brand in North America (I think).

They're a growing trend, for some reason I see a lot of them around lately. I had to retire my 88' LS though. I had about 200,000 Miles on the chasis and 70 on the engine. It was swapped by the previous owner and then handed down to me b/c of the body rott. I drove it for a little under a year and then put it into storage, waiting for a chassis transplant. I've seen a few nice ones for about 1500 high milage but very clean with shinny paint and everything. I've seen not so great ones for about 800 bucks, missing moldings and faded paint etc.. And for some reason finding manuals are tough. During my search, there mostly middle age women driving automatics in either white or champaing:dunno:

Not sure about the logo thing, Seen every generation integra except for the second bat of G3 (98+) engine and they have honda logos.

i had a 89 teg with 261,179 before i got my 95rs.

Mine had an unfortunate ending with a 94 Corsica. my teg was the hero, She didnt give up her fight, Since she cause alot more damage to the other car!, however both went to the salvage yard in the end!!.

As good as those cars are, I must say Gen 2's and Gen 3's are so much better!!. Performance upgrades are dime a dozen, you can get anything for them. My teg, I had to custom (getto) make parts for it.
