Default Whats the Best way to clean under the hood?

I have a bit of sand and other gunk under the hood, whats the best way to get rid of it?

I was thinkin of using my air pressure tools to blow it out but not sure if thats the best way.

Any ideas?

If I had something like that, I'd probably use it. Right now I just spray on a mixed solution of simple green/water and wipe it down with a shop rag.

be careful with a steam cleaner. pull all the electrical parts, if you cant pull them, wrap them in plastic, then foil.

and if you spray the greasy/oily parts with a good degreaser before you steam it, your engine bay will look new.
