Wazzup all.

I want to get a feel what the general concensus is on 17" vs 16" wheels.
To start I have 17" wheels on my GSR. Well this morning on the way to work I caught a pothole and it well bent the rims on the inside which is good but at the same time it took out both wheels on the right side of the car. To make things better i have AEM large rotors up front, so I couldnt put the spare on the front and i have unidirectional tires. So I basically put the left rear wheel on the front, the spare on the right rear and the flat right rear on the left rear.

I wouldnt be concerned if one tire got flat, but the fact that i got two in one shot I'm thinking of going back to my little 15" Civic Si rims.

What do you all think?

Yeah thats what I would say, wasnt much i could do about it. Caught me be surprise, and I'm good at avoiding potholes knowing well that i could blow out tires and bend rims but not this time

 

Your lucky all you did was take out the wheels. Had a friend take out two 18's and the tires plus the bolt on top of the shock tower gave out and he has a dent from the inside out in the hood of his Accord now. Potholes suck. Sorry to hear about you misfortune.

Thanks for posting your story. I was feeling a little bummed that I got these tiny little Si rims. Wished I had opted for the slightly more expensive but higher wow factor of 17"s. But more and more stories of bent rims scared me. Now I feel a little better.
