Ok.. I took my car to the shop and they told me that my rotors in my distributor is bad. They shop told me that I should replace my distributor, distributor cap, and rotors. My question is could I just replace my rotors and maybe a new cap? Well my distributor cap still looks fine so could I just replace my rotors? The shop wants to charge me like 400 bucks to do all the work and replace the parts. 100 dollars in labor and 330 dollars for parts. What would you guys recommend. I really don't want to pay 400 bucks for that shit. I feel like my mechanic is trying to rip me off, or just charging too much for something like that.

distributor can get costly to replace. but the rotor/cap is easy and cheap to replace and you can do it in any parking lot in like 10minutes.

 

Ok we replace the rotors and a new cap, and it still wouldn't fire.
The guy said that i will need a new distrubtor. Now im in search for a cheap or used disturbtor. Could any b series disturbtor would fit any other b series?

 

NO. you need an LS distributor, and on top of that, check to see if it came from an OBD-I or OBD-II engine.

 

ls distributor goes in only in one way.. you can not make any mistake at all..
i have the same problem.. but i think my ECU is bad.. so i'm waiting for this guy to call me to get another one...
