Default OBD1 Scanner ?

Hey folks,
I'm new to this list and I searched but didn't find what I wanted. Is there any diagnostic scanner you would recomend for OBD1 ECU's? I have found an endless supply for '96 or later but nothing earlier.

Thanks!

If you have a check engine light on you don't need the scanner, you can use a piece of wire or a paperclip to jump the service connector. Here's a link with pictures and instructions.

The check engine light will not give you tuning information only codes. A scanner will read map sensor, o2 sensor, engine temp, lean/rich, etc......
Thank you for the welcome and the reply!

Honda OBD1-equipped cars don't have a diagnostic port that can be used with a generic scanner like the OBD2 cars have. Certain companies (mostly GM) equipped their cars with diagnostic ports before '96 which was the mandated implementatation date of OBD2, but Honda was not one of them.

OTC 4000e awesome scanner. designed for OBD1 but can be upgraded to read OBD2 as well. but you have to buy the data connector adapter for honda cars separate.

you can find these on eBay for pretty cheap.
