Default Which Exhaust...

Which Exhaust would be the best to get, especially on a budget...

1. HKS Hiper ($621) -- 55mm/96mm
2. HKS Sport ($495) -- 50mm/60mm
3. Tanabe Hyper Medalion ($517) -- 60mm/130mm
4. Greddy MX ($534) -- 60mm/110mm

if u r on a budget, why are you looking at HKS? lol Tanabe Hyper Medalion is pretty good, but if you look harder you can find better prices on all those exhausts, you can even go used if you are on a really right budget.

I don't want to go used.

Also there is the Thermal Classic I can get for $448. But I think it has the 90 degree bend in it like the factory one. Won't this lose power for me? Should I go with a straight through design for sure?

The apexi N1 is a very good exhaust and can be found for a reasonable price.

Apexi doesn't make exhausts for 2nd gens.

I was planning on getting the Thermal but I really don't want an exhaust with a 90 degree bend, just like the factory one.

Those exhaust prices were shipped by the way..I added 45 onto every price. But I still know I can get better prices (groupbuycenter.com is real cheap).

Anyway, I'll probably go with Tanabe because it seems they make a real aggressive exhaust for pretty cheap. HKS is pretty expensive and the HKS Sport seems like a waste of money.

Does anyone have a Tanabe that really likes it??

I had a buddy that had a Tanabe on a GSR but it was loud but very nice. I have a 94 GSR and I was wondering if it would matter if i would gowith a custom exhaust with a 2 1/4 piping with a high flow cat and a good straight through design muffler would it be as good as a name brand kit. I would think it would be better because it is welded and has no way of having leaks.

3G$1000GSR: I dunno... I have a 94 GS-R, and I'm very glad I went with a brand-name exhaust (GReddy Evo). If you look around, you can usually find a good deal (I got mine for about $475 shipped), and I've always been a brand-name whore.

Also, my GReddy did have an exhaust leak... at a weld, oddly enough! But, thankfully, two quick calls and 3 days later, I had a whole new Evo put onto my car. And if it fails again, I have another 2 1/2 years on my warranty, and I can get it repaired at any approved warranty shop, not just the shop that I bought it from.

And as to keep from hijacking the thread:
LudeRage: I'd go with the GReddy... I've become a big fan after actually owning something from that company, and their warranty service was pretty damn quick.

Greddy MX is by far the best for G2 Tegs. Not ricey, not too loud, looks extremely clean on.

you can get if for 477 shipped from www.rpmmotoring.com

edit: where did you find the HKS Sport for our G2 Tegs? I can't find it anywhere...
