built LS vs LS/VTEC?
i wanted to know whats a better route? ls built or ls/vtec, im getting an ls long block for a pair of rims i have , i can locate a b series tranny for dirt cheap, as well as the intake manifold and accessories. this past weekend at carlisle i saw a built ls and i jus loved the way the motor idled, it was "sexy" the motor im getting ima open it up cause i dunno anything about its history.
i wanna go all motor so what do u think is best for me? this motor is gonna go in my 89 crx si.

LS vtec is cheaper i guess and you will see immediate relatively good gains. I've heard it is not quite as strong tho. Going all motor non vtec will be safer but more expensive. I have not done this however so you will definitely want to get more opinions.
If you want to go the LS/Vtec route your still going to have to rebuild the bottom end to allow for the higher consistant revving. People say that the LS/VTEC is not very stable and could cause serious problems but if it's done properly you shouldn't have any problems. As for the price differences you should consider that the bottom end needs to be built no matter what and the top end is going to be replaced either way also. I would check into the prices a little closer if your budget is going to be problem since I don't have any real knowledge of an all motor cost. I think it's really left to your liking.
