How do I....?
...talk my dad into a 94 integra GSR. He's all about cars and stuff, and my brother found an integra selling for about how much my 200SX is worth, the only thing is, the integra is a 94 and my car's a 98, and this integra is stick. He doesn't think that girls *(or atleast he doesn't think I..)* should drive stick
any ideas? it's a nice car, my bro drove me past it yesterday:thumbup:

well that completely sucks if your dad doesnt think you should drive stick. if thats his only reason, thats pretty sad
gsr is a nice ride.. if you know how to drive stick, then just beg... arent you daddy's lil girl after all?

To get out of the stick excuse, tell him that with manual cars:
1) You generally get better gas mileage
2) They are much safer than automatics
3) Brake wear is reduced because you can downshift and engine-brake
3) and of course...they are fun to drive!

yeah, i tried the "i'll pay more attention to the road if i have a stick car because you have to focus more on your driving" but it didn't work
... my brother taught me how to drive stick, so he says i'm good at it, i don't see why i shouldn't.... and to the thing about the new nissan for the old acura --> i wrecked my "new nissan" back in march on my way to a dance rehersal, so it's not in perfect condition anymore... it's only worth about $8500 now
and i just figured out when i got home today it's leaking transmission fluid... and plus it only has 115 HP and i can barely go the speedlimit on highways, which is another reason that dad says i shouldn't get an integra, beacuse i'll be able to go over 50 w/out having to work for it..... i want the GSR so bad!

1) You can stay in which ever gear you like. Staying in a lower gear gives instant power to pull away if theres some a$$hole about to hit you from behind, etc...
2) You won't be talking on a cell phone
3) You won't be eating a hamburger
4) You won't be drinking a coffee
5) If you're brakes fail, you can downshift and slow to a stop.

#1. unless you have eyes in the back of your head, you would probably never notice someone about to hit you, and then have the time to downshift.
#2. just because you're driving a stick doesnt mean u cant talk on the phone. well maybe you cant but ive seen plenty of people who do.
#3. i doubt she was popping hamburgers when she was driving an auto so she's not really getting any "safer".
#4. drinking hot coffee is not a smart idea in any car.
#5. this is the only valid reason you posted. congrats.
