Interior Painting.
I have a 97 Integra GS-R and its cyprus green. Well, i guess because its green, i get the ugly ass tope interior. So i am going to, kinda started, to paint the interior, converting it to black. It looks good so far, but i see all these cars interior painted threwout the internet, and they all seem so glossy, I need to figure out how to do this right.
Does anyone know what types of paint to use, what type of gloss/clear coat. Someone that has done this or knows how to do this, please let me know, i appreciate it.
THanks

vinyl paint for dash, don't use a clear unless you want it to look glossy. good vinyl paint costs $20 a can by the way. for roof molding and other type shit, other than dash use Dupli-Color paint (i assume you want all black) this is what i used, also you can spray those with primer first. and fabric paint if you want to paint the fabric material on the roof. on my integra, the interion was all black EXCEPT for the roof moldings and fabric on the roof, but now thats I painted it, its all black and look 100 times better.
thanks a ton man. im on my way into town right now, gonna try fleet farm for the paint, there like a industrial , plumbing, painting, farm shit, everything to build with, so i hopen they have some of that stuff. Other then that, where can i get that dupli-color paint, basicly any paint store?
BTW thanks a ton man, for the help.

specialty auto part stores have it. it may take a bit of looking, it did for me.
or try an import performance shop, where they sell ALL aftermarket performance parts, they should have it too. It usually sells for $10 a can.
If you still have no luck finding it, search online and you can get it shipped.

Ok ima look around today, see if i can find some.
So your saying, use the vinyl for the dash, and use regular dupli-color paint on everything else, like the side walls, console, etc..??
Will the color of the vinyl paint and the dupli-color paint match, like from the dash to the console?
I have everything behind my front seats out and stripped to the metal, no back seats, not side walls, nothing.
Also what can a person use to clean the plastics before primer and paint, to get all the residue, grease, and dirt off?
Once again, thank you.

also, i'm certified in Body Work Repair & Refinishing, thats how I know exactly what paints to use.
anyway, as long as you get the right paints and you can spray decently, it should turn out, real nice!
oh yeah i forgot one thing, when you clean the pieces use ONLY water..dishsoap too if there really dirty.
if you use chemical cleaners, glass cleaner..etc..stuff like this, it will f u c k it up when your spraying the panels and stuff, it will cause the paint not to stick, it will not bond to the surface, the paint will run, it'll just turn out like shit.
good luck with your interior!
