Default spark plug gap question

i have a 93 teg, my question is this. my spark plugs are sopose to be gapped at .44 i gaped mine to .48. will this hurt me any? is it better to gap them more then they are sopose to be or is it better to be gapped less then its sopose to be

the only way to tell would be with tuning.


If the gaps too short you can get pre-ignition or detonation. Too much gap and the engine may misfire (does not ignite or ignites to late)

The difference in gap you are talking about for a NA car is nothing to worry about.
