Default Weighted Shift knobs, do they really improve shift trow?

I've noticed some shifters that are deliberately made heavy to improve shifting making the trow more precise and effortless according to the manufacturers.
does this hold any truth of is it just a gimmic from the manufacturers ie. razo RA66 (14.9 oz), greddy M-10(13.5oz) ?

BTW keep in mind that most aftermarket knobs weight anywhere from 2oz to 5 oz max.

its not even that much of a consideration.

all that is so negligible that the science isnt worth reasoning out.

It all boils down to personal preference.

I personally prefer a heavier knob; seems to help the shifter ease into gear.

i have the greddy knob... feels much smoother in my prelude than it did with my aluminum Momo knob.

it seems to be much more effective with a cable shifter like the ludes and accords as they're notorious for being kinda notchy from the factory.

I have the Razo RA66.

It made a very big difference in shift feel, for the better.

I've had the stock leather, a stock rubber knob, a metal Razo knob, an imitation ITR knob, an ergonomic no-namer, and now this RA66. You can most definitely feel the difference.

my friend has a Skunk2 5lb. shiftknob! he says he likes it a lot, says it goes into gear effortlessly.

I've got the same one along with the Skunk2 short shifter (double bend). For a while I drove the shifter with the stock shift knob, but I eventually dropped the $50 or so for the Skunk2 knob and it really made a difference. The shifter nearly pops itself into gear.
