Default engine install

does anyone know if you can drop engine and tranny in a ac teg ls as a whole unit?(from the top) i've had the tranny out for clutch install and i've got both out now for motor swap. i took them out seperate. i would like to drop them in as one but unsure if it will clear the top tranny mount. i know i can do some crafty chain work with the hoist,i.e. lower tranny in 1st but i'm not real thrilled with the whole idea of dropping them both in the floor

thanx in advance

thankx, and that's dropping in from the top right? if so i guess you do have to swing it in with the tranny 1st(lower) then bringing engine around

the only civic that u cant drop in the engine and tranny from the top is the new si cause the top of the engine bay is too narrow

Yes- recently removed two integra engines, transmission included, throught the top with an engine hoist.I'm in the process of swapping engines from a parts car. As shown in the OEM manual, the angle makes this removal possible. The tranmission side must be lower . The angle would be thirty degrees min. or steeper.Reverse procedure for inst~~~ation.Tomorrow I hope to reinst~~~ the donar engine. I will induce an angle to facilate inst~~~ation and patiently( I hope!) adjust angles to catch ~~~ motor mounts. Good Luck !!

good deal, i appreciate it, i chickened out though, i just dropped motor from top and tranny from bottom, it went well but would of course been easier to install clutch fly wheel and tranny in the floor in stead of after motor was in the car. good luck to you!
