Bleeding clutch
Could someone give a detailed instruction on how to to do it right? Where is the bleeding valve? Is it on the right end of the slave cylinder with a tiny rubber boot on the tip?
Also, what's the capacity of the clutch fluid? How much break fluid is needed for a typical bleeding?
Thanks in advance.

it just like doing your brakes..but with only one valve..its easy...you need 2 people though...
just pump up clutch pedal...3 in a row..then hold down...
next...open up the valve..either fluid comes out or air, depending on if you have air in the lines.
keep doing this until you are satisfied with the way the pedal feels..
just keep checking the cylinder and keep putting brake fluid in it so you dont get any air in the lines..which you will have to bleed again...you need a little bottle of fluid..should be MORe than enough.
on my civic the valve is an 8mm....

Thanx, crucial. But where is the valve? If you are standing in front of the car, is the valve on the right end of the slave cylinder? Is there a nut(8mm like you said) attached to the valve so that you loosen the nut to open the valve?
correct, it's got the rubber dust cover to keep trash out, you just crack the bleeder aprox. 1/4 turn and proceed doing so like earlier stated until you get a solid stream of fluid(no air) and good pedal response
Thanx, guys. Just finished bleeding, boy is there a lot of bubble! Glad I did it. The fluid is quite dirty, too. Do you think I should change it completely?
Another thing is that my shifter is not moving smoothly through the gears, felt heavy and sometimes with noise. Maybe the linkage needs to be lubedor something. Anyone done this before?
Thank.

Maybe it's time to do all the fluids on your car. Tranny fluid, clutch fluid, brake fluid.
