So whaat would you do?

I have an 2001 GSR, with i/e/h/im. On friday i will get paid a few hundred dollars(300) that will get put directly in to the ride. Heres your choice, either a highflowcat, a throttlebody(which i might need a little more cash for), or a ZEX dry kit which is used off of my buddys old integra for 300. He said i can pay him later for the purdge kit. i just dont know what to do, i mean i want to spray really bad, and have a quick ass car. Or i can wait a bit and build up slowly. I have been thining about this for a while now and just cant think straight, so thats why i'm here. Please let me know what u guys think help me decide.

thanks a million

I started with i, e & h, pulley's, fr, fpr and then I got the Zex dry kit. I like it but I would much rather be turbo'd. So that's why I am looking to sell the kit.

Well in my opinion building up is always better to start w/ so then your car will be ready for the big stuff (i.e. nitrous, turbo, sc, & na). If you decide to build up first then I would get the throttle body to go with your i & im.

$300 for the Zex kit is pretty good (does that $300 include the purge kit?) Since you are getting the Zex for so cheap & if you want quick hp then go for the nitrous; if the Zex kit doesn't have a bottle warmer w/ it then I advise you to get one so the bottle will be at/around 900psi (a new Zex warmer is under $150.)

i already have the intake and shit like that. well since i dont have all the money he said i can give him another hundred for the purdge later. Do you think lets say it the summer time with very hot weather, will the bottle be at 900psi? I know it will still run just it wont be a full shot. anyway is it stil a good idea to buy a used kit? But i'm still confused what to do

by the way what a fpr and fr

I would go with a new clutch, but your stock clutch should be good

go for tha cat. throtle body i haven't tried but i feel nitrous is to risky, i had a stopped up cat and it was horrible. acted like fuel was cutting out. sluggish and slow pulling hills, then i used a test pipe and had mad power, just a horrible stinch i eventually went with a high flow cat. i.e. go for cat if smog legal.

Good feedback from everyone; it convinced me that you should go with the high flow cat. Is that cat really $300.? I only paid $100 for mine, but its nothing special.

I believe the blank carsound units can be had for as little as $190.
