Default comptech or mugen???

i have a itr motor with a compression around 11:1, ctr cams, vafc, N1 exhuast, 4.785 final drive, and cam gears....dynoed at 180/136 with a dc sports 4-2-1. I have both a comptech 4-2-1 and mugen 4-1 header that i can put on. I have significant traction problems bc of the jdm final drive so i was leaning towards the mugen. Which header would you guys recommend?

The 4-2-1 design will give you a slight boost in power in the middle of the RPM range whereas the 4-1 will give you a sligh boost at the top of the RPM range. Also the Mugen 4-1 header is quite long...you will probably need to have a custom built exhaust from the cat back (if you are using a cat) in order to make it fit. I know for my GSR to use the Mugen 4-2-1 header I need to also get the Mugen ITR twin-loop exhaust since it is shorter than the GSR twin loop exhaust...I also need to switch my GSR cat for an ITR compatible cat.

I hope that helps you...but you need to decide for yourself where you want the power to be...in the middle or up top. I want the power in the middle, but that is for my driving style.

i have a test pipe so length will not be a big deal, i love midrange power also but with the new shorter final drive i have im thinkin that i need some more topend to make up for my traction problems

The Comptech is going to be restrictive, it's only 2.25".

The Mugen is 2.5", correct? I'd use that

Only reason why I'm up on that is beacuse I wanted the Comptech. Then I thought about having to buy two headers and wasn't too keen on that.

I plan on going 2.5" at some point so...

What are you going to do with that Comptech if you don't use it?
