Default what is the difference between LS, GS, and RS?

A friend of mine really wants an older integra (90-93 most likely), and everyone says she wants the LS. Why the LS? Can someone tell me what teh differences between the integra models are? I drive a CRX, so I'm not familiar with the teg stuff. Thanks

GSR = fully loaded with every option (except leather on the earlier years) and the B18C1 VTEC w/shorter geared transmission and no 3rd window brake light on the coupe/hatchback.

RS/LS/GS = same B18B nonVTEC engine.
GS= basically a fully loaded Integra. almost same options as the GSR but without the engine and with leather.
LS = middle level Integra. cloth seating standard, full power windows/doors/sunroof. 91-97 had hubcaps, 98 had 14" alloys, 99-01 had 15" alloys (same wheels as the 97 GSR).
RS= lowest level Integra. cloth seating standard. not full power (sedans have pwr doorlocks and windows tho). all years have hubcaps standard. side molding and side view mirrors are not body color matched. no sunroof. no cruise control. basically the Integra with the least amount of options from the factory, but as a result, the lightest models of all Integras.

ITR = Integra Type R. B18C5 VTEC. even shorter geared transmission than the GSR. factory LSD. no sunroof. 5lug with slightly lower springs with a stiffer rate and stiffer shocks. factory mounted front lip. no side moldings. better flowing exhaust system. miscellaneous differences in the interior trim.

93 and older do not have vtec. LS, RS and GS have the same motor just different options. To me LS is the best. That is why they are saying to get one. RSX is the new integra that came out 2002. Type R is supposed to be the best with more horsepower and more of a racing type of car. I think GSR's are better because I have so many GSR's out run Type R's. It just depends on what is done to them. If she's going old school and don't want to do any mods go for the LS but if she wants mods go for the GSR. If she wants mods I'd go for a 94 and up GSR or LS. That is my opinion from experience. BTW I'm new here but I had to respond. Integras are my thing!!!

92-93 GS-Rs had the B17, which was a VTEC motor. If you can find one of those, snatch it up! Excellent fun sporty cars...

Anyways, to my opinion: Pretty much any 2nd or 3rd gen Integra will be a good buy, as long as it's in decent condition. Though, I'm preferential to the 3rd gen (94-01), but many prefer the looks of the second gen, and they can be had for really cheap

VTEC came to the Integra in the '92 GS-R body with the B17A1 engine. It's based off the B16A with a different crank and rods yeilding 1.7 litres of displacement. The GS-R has had a DOHC VTEC engine every year it was made.

For 90-93, leather was not standard in the GS. Ask my father, he had to pay quite a bit extra for it.

If she is a typical girl who cares nothing about modifying cars, get her a 92 or 93 GS. They have the better looking 92-93 features (tails, front and rear bumper covers, etc) and come with a slightly stronger 140hp version of the B18A. Being a GS, it has all the little options like chrome plated inside door handles and lock switches.
