I wanted to know about the difficulty of passing smog with FI. If you could, can you tell what your system is, and wether it not passed?

If you have a CARB EO number, you will be in, unless it ain't running right. It should be running just as clean as usual

i believe only the greddy kits w/o intercooler are smog legal

 

Why would a FMIC be illegal?

 

a fmic is not illegal. it's simply not smog legal. or at least greddy hasn't gotten it smog legalized yet.

 

I have heard conflicting reports of cops writing fix-it tickets for cars on the road with a shiny FMIC.

If its not a greddy kit be prepared to rip it out every 2 years.

good thing I know a guy that owns a smog shop.. he passed my car and I didnt even have to take my car to him:naughty:

 

even greddy kit is tested on a stock motor and the turbo with no intercooler
if you have boltons you may not pass

just like any mod, they may all have carb eo numbers, but then they get those passed when the car is lightly/or not even modded

so be careful cuz smog in cali is a big thing
