i was tryin to get the Greddy header for my car but they said that there isn't one for it...i have a 2001 GSR...the guy i went to said the engine is slightly different from the 98-2000 model GSR...he said my engine is more in common with the type R engine..is this true???....thanks./....are there any that will fit my car for sure???

 

Sounds to me like that guy is full of crap. I have never seen or heard of a difference in a 00 to 01. I have never heard of a stock motor that is "Closer to a type r" than a gsr either. But have you tried looking on thier site? It might explain.

 

ive heard that its different in the 00-01. same with the exhaust piping, its also different.

 

I have never heard this confirmed but places that sell headers and exhausts sometimes classify the 00 and 01 GSRs differently than from the 99 and below GSRs. One guy said it was because the cat was placed differently...it would be great if someone could confirm/deny/clarify this.

 

aight here is the thing, The header on the 00-01 gsr resembles 94-01 LS. The 94-99 gsr header has the o2 bung right before the header ends. Head over to team-integra.net and look at the articles under exhaust.. great website with great articles

 

'94-'01 LS, GS fits on '00-'01 GS-R, which differs from '94-'99 GS-R exhaust.
you can also get an exhaust made for an ITR, and it'll bolt right up...I think that's what the guy may have meant when he told you that.
if you want to check for yourself, go to Comptech's website and check the part #s for the Catback and headers for each of these cars, it's the same part.
