Because i hear it is common for all b series vtec motors when in vtec for along time you tend to burn a little oil from beening so high in the rmps?

mobil1 synthetic 10w30.

i changed to synthetic @ around 24,000 mi. the consensus is that once you go to synthetic, it is not recommended that you go back to conventional dino oil. just a little tip.

you might notice a little burning of oil due to its thinner properties. otherwise, i wouldn't worry...go mobil1!

first off i use penzoil 5w-30, and i trust nothing else, i'm not for synthetic oil, but that too works great, i like it simple, as for you question about the motor, i work on cars, and built a several motors, i've noticed that when you kick into v-tec, your oil pressure goes sky high, especially to engage vtec, and also the fact that your rev'n just that much higher and higher, over a period of time your going to burn some oil up, but it's not due to bad rings, or bent rods, just the fact the motor needs to do it that way, the best way to handle this is, when do an oil change make sure you fill to the second dot, most people say half, which is normal, but for these motors go to the second dot, and it will slowly burn down, and usually by your next oil change you will not have to add more oil, but always check it when you can, when your getting gas, or just sitting at home. Also if your vtec doesn't engage, or does engage and pop out of it, definitely check your oil, cause that means you don't have enough oil pressure, well that could be one of the things, alright there ya go, hopefully that helps.

used to be Mobil1 Syn 5W-30 in the cold season for easier start-ups and quick engine lubrication.

now with warm weather here, Mobil1 Syn 10W-30. It also is slightly thicker so it doesn't leak through the microscopic sized hole in my cam seal.

i have a 94 gsr with 105,000 miles on it and i burn oil whenever i rev it up in the 6,000-8,000 range. the oil peeps tell me i might have a bad gasket, valve or somin and to just keep feeding it oil, any way to narrow down to what it is, i burn threw about a quart and a half every thousands miles. that not really normal driving tho. oh yea and when i rev it to 8 and sorta keep it there a bit it burns it so made that i have white smoke pouring out of the exaust

I just use regular Valvoline 10-30. Keep your oil changed and you will be fine. Synthetic is just too much money for how much better it may or may not be.
