Default custom turbo setup

I've been doing some research on turbo kits; greddy, revhard, drag. But I'm planning on going the custom turbo route. I've noticed that the manifolds that come with the kits are pretty small, the drag manifold has the turbo running what mostly looks like the 4th piston. Anyways, here are my questions:

1) Whats the best manifold for a garret t3/t4e turbo, in ur humble opinion...?

2) Why are those kit manifolds so small compared to say the ones up for sale on ebay?

3) Stainless steel or iron?

4) Is there a difference between manifolds that put the turbo above and below the manifold?

5) Anyone make a kit that includes only the oil lines and fittings?

thanks!!

um well it was always a theory of mine that the reason the kits had smaller manifolds was because they chose to go the cast iron route, which is cheaper. with a cast iron manifold, i think if you get too big, you run the risk of cracking it. thats all sortof theory though, so really i dont know.

if you ask me, a manifold is a manifold is a manifold. if you can get one with equal length runners, do it. i think whats most important is that you get one that fits your car and puts the turbo where you want it. (take into account how you want to run all the pipes, and the size of the turbo)

on your last question, im pretty sure there isnt a kit like that. too many variables on something like that

the reason most go with cast iron is they are less prone to cracking due to heat expansion. the welds on SS manifolds are extremely sensitive to heat and crack very easily after a few heat cycles.
