those with automatic tegs . . . .
i just had a curious question, do you guys see considerable gains in power when you guys mod your car? What i mean is that, when you guys are putting on your cai's on, your headers, your exhausts on, are you getting alot of power out of it?
I ask this because one of my friends had just bought a teg, and he swears that the car would do high 14's with bolt ons on his auto teg.

hahahaha...bolts ons on an automatic teg will be running mid-high 16s.
the automatic is crap when it comes to applying real power. im speaking from experience.
yes the mods are a bit noticible, but not worth it in my opinion. you can spend $150 on an intake, $350 on a header, $400 on a catback system. you will still get beat by a stock 5sp.
i think from 0-60, the manual is a whole second quicker than the automatic.

Shingo
yea that is kind of nasty-high 14's with turbo. The kid is, how can i put this nicely, a retard who has been living behind a rock most of his life, who happens to have rich parents. His parents bought him a 2001 GS for 17,000 and it has like 30,000miles on it. Yea, i know the kid got ripped off, Really bad, but i have been trying to tell him that it would not be worth getting a auto-teg. But he didnt listen, bought himself a the auto-teg, and now he thinks he is the worlds bad ass driver. DUMB KIDS AND NICE CARS DONT MIX.
Let him have his fun, he'll probably wreck it. There's not too much like downshifting going into a hard corner :fawk:
I almost tanked my Plymouth Acclaim turbo at least once a month, fawking automatic. I was also 16-18 and thought I was a racecar driver

yea i felt the same way ur31337, when i had a neon. I had the DOHC automatic, and i thought i was all fast and furious, and now that i look back, i think i was a little dumb azz with a gay car. Thank god that car blew up.

Sometimes having an automatic is advantageous.
