Default Q about rim care

Before I put my new rims on my car, I was wondering if I should wax them? The Tire Rack manual that was sent with the rims stated that it would be a good idea to put a coat of wax on them so they are easy to clean and easy to care for.

I have Klasse wax, should I use that, or is there a certain wax I have to use on a rim?

This may be a stupid question, but I spent a lot of money on these SSR's and want to be sure I do this right

i put a clear coat on mine but thats b/c i get it for free from work. i dont think you need it but it might make it easier, even though everytime you wash it, the wax is prob gonna come off.

The idea behind waxing the rims is similar to waxing the painted part of the car. THe wax makes it easier to clean, will provide a bit of protection from various crap that gets on the wheels. Yes it will wear off, no I don't think it is that big a deal

If you have an air compressor, that would be gravy. Never try to clean your wheels "dry". I only clean my wheels when I clean the car. If you can, take the wheels off the car when you clean them. When it comes to drying the polished lip, that's where I would let the air compressor handle it. Just blast the wheels with air.

Over time, as you wipe down the polished lip with a cloth, no matter how careful you are, you'll see tiny scratches. This was my mistake with my GP-0's. I just want to make sure that other wheel owners don't do the same mistake I did...
