Default Does gasoline eat paint?

Just wondering. Today at the gas station I prepayed, and as I went to put the pump in the car, I guess he activated it and some gas spooged out. Will it cause damage? It got on the side of the car of course.

wash it off... i would think it would be fine. It seems like continually soaking an area may cause discoloration or some other problem with the paint... but getting a little on your car shouldnt hurt.

yes, it can.
but clear coat is pretty tough (it's not just there to make your car shiny)
if gas keeps getting spilled there, over time it will wear away the clear, first making it dull, then wearing it away completely. after that, the color is relatively easy to destroy.

just wash it off and it'll be fine. it won't make your car rust by just spraying on it once.
