Default Upgrading brakes

What can I do to upgrade my brakes. I know most big break kits don't fit under 15inch rims. I use my GSR blades during the winter so I need something that will still allow them to fit. Thanks.

www.fastbrakes.com
they make a specR kit for integras. it uses redrilled itr rotors/calipers and mounting brackets. so basically itr brakes for a non itr and they fit in a 15" rim (obviously)

Thanks I will check that out. How much better are ITR brakes vs GSR brakes?

200% at least.

The braking distance is reduced from like 146 ft to 116 I think. Check the thread ITR vs GSR calipers.

Seriously though, the ABS system was heavily reworked (I think to have less wheel-lock) for track use. As far as the rotors, they're bigger & vented.

If I had a GSR, I'd get Brembo blanks and some aggressive pads (I'm not up on the best ones, check around).

Yea, three of my friends just bought GSRs. 2000 w/ 7K, 2000 w/ 48K, 1998 w/ 56K.

Brakes on them are SUX0R! Probably has a lot to do with tires too though. The 7K has stock tires, the other 2000 has Dunlop FM-351 or something, the 98 had 14" steelies

are you sure that the 98's came with 14"steelies? I thought that all 94+ GSR's came with 15"

Have they done any brake mods? If so what have they done?

The 98 GSR was missing:

Speakers, wheels, wing, shift knob, radio.

Hence the steelies.

The other two were BONE stock.

The main reason the quoted stopping distance for the ITR is so much shorter than the GSR has nothing to do with the brakes at all. The GSR comes stock with crappy all-season tires while the ITR has high performance tires which are a lot stickier.

The rear brakes are identical on both cars.

The front brakes on the ITR have larger calipers and rotors.

For street driving a set of fresh rotors (slots or holes are unnecessary), high performance pads (I'm a Hawk HPS fan), stainless steel lines and good fluid (I like Ate Super Blue) will be more than sufficient.
