Default Car hesitates on take off

When I'm accelerating in first and second gear, sometimes third, there's a slight hesitation (pause) before the car starts to take off. It's not that noticeable, but it's bugs me. Anybody know what it coud be?

95 GSR, stock

I am experiencing the same problem with my 95 GSR. So far I've assumed it to be an electrical problem (based on a similar experience with another vehicle). As such, I first filed the points of the distributor, filed and cleaned the rotor, and regapped the plugs. None of these solved the problem. I then replaced the ignition wires and that greatly lessened the problem but didn't eliminated it completely. I suspect that maybe an insulation breakdown of the distributor cap may also be a contributor to the problem. I plan to pick some dark evening to view engine while its running to examine the possibility of electrical leakage. Will let you know when I've completely solved the problem.

I have had a similar problem on my 91. I put a JDM B16A in it and It does the same thing. It will only do it if I ease into the throttle in 1st or 2nd and even 3rd, or if I ease in after letting off the throttle at lower RPM. The only other things that could cause a slight hesatation would be a clog in the fuel system or if your timing was off. One of my friends at the Acura dealership said if I changed the wires and nothing happened to add a fuel pressure guage and see if there was any drop in fuel pressure when you are chaning gears or when you reaccelerate.

I have it in my 95 GS-R also. I dont think it is an electricial problem......it is what you call lack of low end torque man. If you shift anywhere under 5000 rpm, you will feel the hesitation, Especially from 1rst->2nd.

Exactly. VTEC doesn't start working when you take off.
Doesn't seem to be your problem though...

It's not a low end torque thing or vtec. It's something else. I've been driving this car for 4 years. I guess I'll try all the above before I complain again.

happens to me every now and then, I'm really not sure what causes it either..maybe a sticking throttle plate or something?

Even if that was teh case, the car feels like its riding up on something you know? Like its bogging almost. I can't get it to happen frequently or anything so I dont think it will ever get fixed.
