Default VTEC controller question?

What do you have your vtec set at? I did some actual thinking last night and i figured something about my ride i should have always known. I used to have my vtec set at 4500 rpm, with fuel % at 0 (so stock). Well i figured its all about high compression motors, so vtec now hits at 5400,5000 with my fuel at something like (20%,
16% ). Too me my car feels MUCH faster but i was just wondering what you guys have your set at?

you should really get it tuned on a dyno. you could actually be hurting you engine.

running rich wont hurt the engine, but it may hurt the catalytic converter.

Never, ever, EVER mess with engine management. Bad news.

I have the Jackson Racing controller set at about 3800 rpm. They don't recommend setting it earlier than 4000 rpm for non-boosted cars due to "lack of air speed and volume", which will perform poorly.

i have my VTEC set to kick in at 5200 RPM with stock settings, sometimes when i am in VTEC to long my car will throw a check engine light and the rev limiter will be at 5000 RPM, and sometimes my car will stahl, i have no idea what either could be..all i know is that my car idles at about 600-700 RPM when its warm. my car hasent thrown a check engine light in a long time, but it still shuts off at random times ( once when i was about to race )..any ideas on what this problem could be?

honda did a lot of testing to find the right point when vtec should kick in, i wouldn't be changing it around unless you had aftermarket cams or something of that sort
