Default Car trouble

My car started to act up last week. First off it's a man 94 Teg GSR with only an exhaust and intake.

1. No engine codes
2. New air filter
3. New fuel filter
4. New plugs
5. Change oil and filter
Looked at distributer . Opened it up and it looked fine. No charring.
Tried new plug wires.

It idles fine.
But when I drive it, it sounds funny until 2k rpm and then it's fine.
Same problem for each gear. Checked timing with a timing gun. Lokks like the computer is trying to adjust, not stable. And just pulled the plugs, they look like I'm running rich and lean. Does that make sense.

Any help, or if someone had similiar probs would be appreciated..
Could it be a bad ecu?
Thanks

Assuming you have already done the disconnect the battery reset the computer thing, it sounds like a spark thing. Maybe a rotor, cap; they can look pretty good and still be bad. What does that mean when you say it is rich and lean? Fouled and burnt?

The plugs show both examples of running rich and lean. Strange? I'll try to get a pic. I'm going to pull the valve cover to check the timing belt, but I'm running out of ideas. Want to check the ecu, but it is so difficult to find someone who as an ecu to swap with. Thanks for your help.
