Default transmission acting up

Lately my car has been acting up. First off i've got an automatic, and secondly, when putting a new distributor cap on one of the screws broke off so the new cap is only on by 2 or 3 screws.

Problem is my car when changing gears is kinda heavy, kinda jolts a bit more then usual. And when it goes into 4th it revs up for about half a second before switching..

Im thinking this could be the distributor cap.. something ive been meaning to get fixed(screw broke off just at the right point where i cant get ahold of it with anything). But even before hand the transmission was acting up a bit.

Any opinions on what could be the problem would be deeply appreciated..

My moms old accord starting doing something similar to that in its later years. I think its not too unatural for an older automatic to jolt when shifting. Maybe you should get a tune-up .

if ur not sure exactly wut it is you should probably get someone to look at it..it probably has to do with the aging of your car but you never know..
