If I were you I wouldn't post that for anyone and everyone to see because some nasty things can happen if the wrong person gets this vin. One is they could steal your car because they can get a key made for it. Just my .02

And we all somehow know who PureGSR is in person, AND where his car is? Besides, you can go up to any car on the road and read the VIN directly off it.

It's just my .02 because I read a story on here a ways back about someones car being stolen because the vin was taken and the dealer gave them a key replacement without any other verification. Do as you please though I just wouldn't do it.

The car would have to be somewhere that the potential thief would see often. No use in walking up to a car in a parking lot, getting the VIN and going to get a key made. The car won't be there. But if the car is in someones driveway then they can just walk up, grab the VIN and be on their way. I'm not sure about how posting it online would be different... would someone in Cali get a key made then drive out the IL to find the potential car? IMHO, it's more dangerous parking outside than it is that a person will make a key and steal your car... no harm no foul.

Definitions:

First Owner
A state issues a title to provide a vehicle owner with proof of ownership. When a title is issued to the first owner of a new vehicle, CARFAX labels the title record with "First Owner".

Flood Damage Title
States issue flood titles when a vehicle has been in a flood or has received extensive water damage.

New Owner Reported
When a vehicle is sold to a new owner, the Title must be transferred to the new owner(s) at a Department of Motor Vehicles. CARFAX identifies this event and labels the title record as "New Owner Reported".

Private Use
Vehicle was registered by the owner for private or personal use.

Rebuilt/Reconstructed Title
A Rebuilt/Reconstructed vehicle is a salvage vehicle that has been repaired and restored to operation. These vehicles are often severely damaged before they are rebuilt and refurbished parts are typically used during reconstruction. In most states, an inspection of the vehicle is required before the vehicle is allowed to return to the road.

Salvage Title
A Salvage Title is issued on a vehicle damaged to the extent that the cost of repairing the vehicle for safe operation exceeds its fair market value; or a vehicle that has been declared a Total Loss by an insurer or other state or jurisdiction. Some states treat Junk titles the same as Salvage but the majority use this title to indicate that a vehicle is not road worthy and cannot be titled again in that state. The following eight States also use Salvage titles to identify stolen vehicles - AZ, IL, MN, NM, OK, OR, GA and FL.
