Does anyone know the safe steps to remove airbags?

if you want them out and don't want to reinstall, you could take the front bumper cover off, find the impact sensors and just hit them with a hammer and then the airbags will deploy. thats what I did on a friends car that wanted an aftermarket momo steering wheel installed.

I think what you need to do is disconnect the battery.. I forgot how long you need to leave it disconnected..but then the air bags are "disarmed" or in other words..won't blow up in your face..then everything should be ok

Disconnect then battery and wait for at least 3 minutes, then go in and unplug them.
