Wow, no one likes it. I think it looks kinda kool, like a rally car, but I would never do it to my G2.

Exactly, it reminds me of a rally car. It is basically flares, but with the wheel setup, it would make your stance a little wider.

If you look at those wheels, they're pretty wide and have a low offset. The tires are definitely at least 245 mm wide. The way the car's suspension works, it doesn't like tires that wide or that sort of offset. It's purely an aesthetic upgrade that if anything would downgrade the performance of the suspension.

I've got 17x7 rims on their way. I'm planning on putting 215\40\17 tires on them. I definatly don't want to downgrade the suspension. I always thought wider was better. I guess it's not better if the suspension won't alow it. Oh well, it was just an idea. I just liked the way it looked, but if it's gonna cost me in performance, forget it.

Yes! We have educated someone -- rather, someone out there is willing to be educated and not some spanker.

I now have respect for you sir.

Wider tires, sure. Wider wheelbase (aka. 5 ft. wheel spacers, maybe not. ) You could just custom flare your fender since 215/40/17 tend to "stick out" just a tad bit and rub the inner fender walls on hard turns.

I have 215/40/17 as well, have fun!
