With the JRSC do you still use a blow off valve and achieve the psssh sound?

no vortec SC...for any car...baaaaad. not enough useable power, and at that price, you might as well get a turbo.

Normally, you'd need a blow-off valve to make that noise, which means you need a turbo. Or, you could be a ricer like me and make that noise without any forced induction. I think my intake's hose clamp at the throttle body is loose, but everyone says it sounds like I have a BOV when I shift. :chuckles:

I should probably fix that before I go to the dyno on Saturday...

I have a friend with a 97 gsr I/H/E and he is looking to go with a supercharger. He was told the vortech was the better bet over the JR. Any thoughts of which way to go.

If you are gonna spend the money, get a turbo. Sure you have to take a little extra time and care with them but in the end it makes the most sense. With the low compression ratio on an LS they handle turbo's very well. Sure you get power off the bat with a supercharger, but a well set up turbo should spool up quick enough that you won't really notice the lag. My $.02

Well I checked the dyno sheet from JRSC and it only gave the LS 30 extra hp! 30 hp for $3000? Come on. I can put new cam gears and pulleys in with a few other little things for less money and less time.

That damn well isnt going to get you the 30hp let alone the same results as a jrsc. We all forget that its instant boost. Torque right off the line. Not everyone wants to drag race. Plus the ls and blower can take some extra boost so 8-9.5psi would up those JRSC's dyno numbers a bit. Add a kamakazi header and 3'' exhaust and thats a lot more power. I am totally in favor of turbo, hell I have one myself, but what everyone has to realize it is not for everyone.

well see the dyno that they did, the LS already had a header and exhaust on it.
