Default question/opinion for all

hey guys.. i have been thinkin real hard latley ....

i am 16 years old and drive a integra LS...metallic grey..with 162,000 miles on it.. lowered on eibach springs...with konig exhaust... overall i am very happy with it....
i am not to sure on whut i want to do....i dont have a very good job so im only pulling in about 200 bux a month to mess around with after paying off my insurenace and gas n all that good stuff....

anyway alot of people in my town have integras...and its hard cuz there all the same so i dont know whut i should do about making mine so more unique n such...i waz thinking about rims...cuz im still running the stock hubbies... but thats like 1,000$$ fer 17's....so i cant afford that right away. ( and if anyone has any other solutions fer rims that helps ) ....but i dont know if i should supercharge it ..i heard LS's arent very nice SCed.. so im thinkin i should just go for looks because my car has so many miles on it...it might be just stupid to do such to it......anyway.. some ideas on this would be greatly appreciated ...

thanks alot

kyle

i think it depends on what you are looking to do with the car. with limited cash, i think it's either put it all to getting faster, or all for looks. so it depends on what you're looking to do, or which you'd prefer.

if you decide on rims, you have to decide between looks (17s) or function (15s).

are you keeping the car for a while? if the chassis is in good shape, you could always turbo or sc the car, and replace the engine when it goes (assuming the rest is in good shape).

just make wise well thought out decisions...nothing like making a bad choice with the limited money you got (i know i've been there).

Go for looks, if anything, your engine will need freshening up before you consider such bolt ons.

with only 200 a month dont even bother doing anything. for rims, you will have to save up a minimum of 6 months if you save every penny of it but you are putting some into gas and insurance. i would recommend you drive it through high school and college (if you go) and when u get a good job, then fix up ur car. i know you may not like that suggestion but thats pretty much all you can do with your money. or look for a better job and work more..then you can afford to actually do things. good luck with it though

EDIT:: 200 after gas and insurance... well then thats still 5-6 months for rims.

you have a very valid point... sometimes i dont even know why i bought an import car because i have no money to really save up to put into it....i actually have about 600 right now ...so im not like in debt or anything but i think im just gonna put rims on it and call it quits untill i find a better job and can focus on working more...then maybe ill get my GS-R ..... i dunno

u gotta work with whut you got i guess ..

You're 16, I wouldn't worry about fixing it up into anything special. Get all your maintenance taken care of, and save up for one thing at a time that will actually improve your experience with the car. With that kind of mileage there's obviously not going to be much value left in the car so you should really think about how much longer you plan on keeping the thing and how much money you want to drop. There has to be some point when you decide that you want to spend your money on nice things (girls, expensive electronic gadgets, clothes, etc) instead of continually saving up for one mod at a time for an older car with a lot of mileage. If you want, get stuff that provides a good baseline to work with and keeps the car in good shape for possible stuff down the line.

Save your money. You don't wanna go all out on a car with so many high miles. In a few years you will probably need to swap engines, no sense adding bolt ons to decrease the useable life of your engine even more. I Your also nearing the time for your next timing belt change. That will cost you a pretty penny so start saving up now if you only make 200 bucks a month. By the time you have the money together for it (after gas and insurance) you'll need a new timing belt.
