Default Alignment Question

Hey guys I just finished lowering my car and I have a quick question. Im in a pinch for time so I didnt have time to search. When you go to get an alignment done, do they have some specs on how it should be per car?? Because my car isnt stock height anymore. Or is it more of them just checking its straight and what not. I hope they werent going to put my car back to factory specs b/c if they did it would be off since mines lowered.

Any quick help would be greatly appreciated

The settings are relative to the car being square to the ground, and don't have anything to do with ride height. If you lower the car, the camber will be off and that's the thing that needs to be fixed the most, but they'll also fix the other settings as well. Did you install a camber kit to correct this?

The only way it wont be off is if it is at the factory ride height. Whether or not you want to fix it is up to you. You'll be looking at uneven tire wear and possibly some handling issues, depending on how bad it is.

As an aside: my camber is off even at the factory height.

dont get an alignment untill a week after you drop it. the springs need time to settle.

:werd: otherwise you'll just end up going back to get another one to fix it again and thats just a waste of money.

Get the alignment!! Your camber will be off a bit and can only be corrected by getting a camber kit. I too have mine dropped 1.5". I just make sure that I rotate my tires every 7,000 miles or so. I haven't run into any premature wear issues yet. Good luck to ya.

you will have to buy a camber kit for the front to get the camber into spec. and they will adjust it to factory specs.

do you have to get camber kits for all four wheels, or just the front? my car is also dropped and i had to replace the front tires when i bought it cuz the inside edges of the tires were REALLY worn. i know i need to get a camber kit for it, but i wasn't sure if you do all four wheels.
