How do you read the VIN's?

What sorts of info are on Integra VIN's, and how would you read it?

The first number is for the country that it was built in.......the 8th number stands for the engine type....and the 10th number is the year it was made....you need a scale to interpret these numbers and letters tho. Oh, and the last 6 numbers are the production number for the car.

I don't know how accurate that info is though. I know my car is a 1998 model, but according to that list, its a 1999.

if your 10th digit is a W then it's a 98

Good for you. And my 10th character is a 'W', but as I said the website states that W=1999.

Dude, I completely agree with you...I too know that W=1998. The site is just wrong.
