I'm running Denso plugs with the type-R heat range. They're ~$6/pop at AutoZone (it's listed under the general heading of VTEC, but they're actually the R plugs...heat range is 11 for the R, GS-R is 13). They seem to do OK...haven't noticed a loss in MPG, but have noticed a bit more pickup. Personally, for $6, they're awesome. NGK-R plats are SUPER hard to find under $10. I stand behind my Densos. Plust he box is cool too...can't go wrong there.

Any spark plug that isnt fouled. =)
I would have to say NGK coppers, but honestly, any difference would be negligble...if you notice it, its something else thats just a coincedence.

When I switched to thte NGK coppers, I got about 1-2 MPG better. I checked this using the cruise control for all driving(at the time about 98% freeway) and keeping my foot out of it. It is a matter of having to change them more often, which I don't mind. Cu is a better conductor then Pt, which is better than Ir. I would imagine silver would be the best, but who wants to pay for that?

Any spark plug that is not fouled will provide optimum fuel efficiency (in conjunction with all other portions of your engine running at spec).
With worn plugs, you will definitely be running not as efficiently as possible, and other problems like difficulty starting, misfiring, and deposit build-up may be worsened.
Use the the manufacturer recommended (ie what they use at the dealer) brand.

i like my denso iridiums. they made a difference when i bought them
Iridium spark plugs are unique only because they spark at lower voltages than others, and are less prone to becoming fouled. I know DENSO and NGK make some claims about it, but I doubt you would notice the difference - just take a look at their own dynograph charts.
