Default Coilover Question $$=quality?

I’ve been shopping here and there for a set of coilevers, and they’re not exactly cheap. So I was wondering if anyone has the less expensive brands, like Areospeed and Drop zone. I mean if it gets the job done for 200 bucks less why not? I just need something where I can have a variable ride height for street use only. But, as of now I’m aiming for Ground Controls or Skunk2 which avg. around 300 bucks or so.

Any info would be great,
Thanks,
Mike

Coilover sleeves like Ground Control are a cheap alternative to full coilovers. Coilover sleeves like OBX/Drop Zone are the cheap alternative to Ground Control. If all you care about is ride height then go for the Drop zone/Arospeeds. But if you're concerned even in the least bit about not DECREASING the performance of you car and ending up with an unstreetable ride, then get the GC's.

the major difference is the spring rates. With cheaper brands like OBX/Drop Zone the spring rates are incredibly high for a street car. I believe 500-600F/500R. Those will kill off any normal shocks w/in months. GC offers lower spring rates that may be more streetable. Some pple have claimed there's a difference in quality, but these are problems that plague all "sleeved" coilovers such as freezing perches
