Default Removing rear window tint

I am trying to remove the rear window tint w/o damaging the defogger. Does anyone have any suggestions on the best way to remove it?

Peel off the tint and use goof-off of something similar to get the glue off. I have also heard that Windex and scotch bright works to.

Good luck!

As far as I know there is no way to take it off without damaging the defogger. Why are you removing it?

I removed mine without losing any of the defogger lines.....

I'm not sure if this is easiest or best way, but it worked incredibly well for me, so here it goes.

I used one of those curtain steamers, they're real cheap...like $10-20 at Wal-Mart, I think the one I bought was made by Oster or something. Anyway, I just made a small slit in the tint w/a razor blade as a starting point. Then I just steamed the tint a ton, especially the area where I immediately peeling. It came right off, just like that.

There was some glue residue left behind in a few spots, but a good cleaner like Industrial Strength Windex took care of that.

Sorry for the late reply.....I'm not on HAN much.

It didn't take long at all. Just steam the section for a good 10 seconds and you'll be good.

I'm interested in trying this out. But Im not familiar with what a curtain steamer looks like. Do you or does anyone know the proper name of the tool? I did a search for curtain steamer and no luck.

I never thought of that before, but now that you mention it, something like a curtain steamer seems like it would be the perfect tool for removing the tint. If someone else tries it, can he/she post back here and let me know how it works? or just PM me.
