GReddy kits are CARB certified = smog legal. I don't think the base kit comes with the intercooler.

The most likely scenerio when cop finds a turbo under the hood, he will give you sh!t. The majority have no idea, and nor do they care what a CARB EO# is. Soooo...they will ticket you, and then you have to go to court, and then you have to prove to the judge the modification is smog legal, blah, blah, blah.

My advice, get the turbo, but don't make your car a cop magnet. Put the front plate on, put on a quiet exhaust, don't have bright blue lights, and enjoy the boost.

only thing that might make me cop magnet is the fact that im lowered and have black rims =\ other than that, nothing else... but im leaning more towards the turbo side because i love boosted cars but still weighing out my options pros and cons ect..

Cops shouldn't care about a turbo the person that will care is when you go for your smog cert then it pays to have the carb cert. Makes life a whole bunch easier well at least a little easier!

What happens if you go in for your smog cert and you fail?

in CA, you will have to go to a smog only station and try to pass. if you don't pass you will have to fix the problem or in my case I passed the first time though. Then if you still have problems, you will have to go to a smog referee and that is a pain in the a$$...
