Default going ls/vtec turbo, worth it?

My friend has a 1996 gsr that he totaled that is $1700 to be picked up from the body shop its at now, i was thinking about buying it off of his hands and using it for parts.
My car has so many problems right now electricly and a few sensors i know are not working corectly because my car never idles right and no one can seem to fix it. I know a very respectable shop around here that has done the ls/vtecs before and they all have been done correctly. I was planning on telling them to strip everything but my block out of my car and just use everything in the engine bay from the gsr. Hopefully, fixing all my little problems plus adding a ton of additional power.

My block is already built and i am looking to run at about 10psi with the ls/vtec setup, hopefully putting me into the high 12 catagory i am thinking. Now my question is; is it worth it? Am i doing the right thing or should i just try to get my car rewired at a place and get hondata. I just think for the price of the gsr which was hit in the rear i could prob. part out what i dont need and walk away with a whole bunch of goodies for free. Let me know what you think.

Also what do these things run with a setup like what i am going to have.
Current Mods now are: Fully Built and Balanced Block, 3" all the way through with nothin restricting it just a 3" ultaflo turno muffler, drag III Kit from ben with the upgraded wastegate, 310cc RC Injectors, Vortech FMU with 9:1 disc. Any info will help, thanks!!!!

actually if you are going to do this i think it is better to use a b16 head because of the flow rate unless you get the gsr port and polished but then if you think about it that way if you p&p the b16 you will have better flow then with the b18 head but anyhow just a thought. gl with the project.

ls vtec is pretty high compression, not best for turbo

you may want to consider just turbo'ing the b18c1

i just rebuilt my whole bottom end for lower compression turbo on the ls so i am going to stick with that block. I dont see a problem at 10 psi with the built bottom end. Just curious how much does an average machine shop charge to port and polish the head, etc....

i was quoted 300 for a p/p and 95 for a valve job (3 or 5 angle)
