1. The eclipse gs-t (or gs-x) is better if you are looking to go faster without spending alot more money. to make each car run 13s, you will have to spend a couple thousand more on the gs-r. The eclipse gs however is not as fast as the integra gs-r. Keep in mind that the eclipse gs-x is a car that has many problems, i.e. transmission, etc.

2. the eclipse sucks as far as maintenance is concerned....It is a piece of crap, that was not manufactured well at all....quality wise....acura is a much better car, and will laster MUCH MUCH longer. Also, consider this....the eclipse engine (4g63) with turbo produces only about 25-30 more hp, than the integra engine (b18c) without turbo.

2. obd1 cars (etc. 94-95 gsr) do not have a governor, whereas the obd2 cars do.

3. contrary to popular believe, insuring a gs-r will only be about 20-40 $ more than insuring a regular LS

1. Turbo Eclipses are not just strait line cars. There is a huge aftermarket part selection including suspension (much like the GSR). As for the GSX having transmission problems, well yeah it will if your doing constant high rev drops.

2. Obviously you have no first hand knowledge and just say what what you've heard from other people. I've had my Eclipse for about two and a half years. I bought it with 72,000 miles and know I have 103,000 miles and besides regular oil changes and plugs and wires, I have only spent $350 on it, about the same amount I spent on my 110,000 mile Civic in that same time frame.
Also, consider this....the Eclipse engine (4g63) with the stock small-ass turbo (Garrett T25) produces only about 25-30 more hp and 70lb-ft more torque (214lb-ft from 3000-6000rpm) than the Integra engine (b18c) without turbo, and a 4g63 engine with stock internals is good up to 450hp.

3. What most people don't know, a GSR and Vtec Prelude cost more to insure than a turbo Eclipse.

Are you basically stating that the quality and longevity of an eclipse is equal to the quality and longevity of a honda/ integra ?? I think we all know the answer to that................
