Default ls or gsr tranny?

i had just gotten a transmission, supposedly from an ls. the code reads S80. what bugs me is that i also have read that the gsr trans is also coded S80. so my question is, how can i truly tell if it is a gsr or ls trans?

If it still has a VIN sticker — which it should — that's the best way to figure out what you've got.

For the third gen Integra:
JH4DC4 = RS, LS, GS
JH4DC2 = GSR

Consult the Integra FAQ for the specific gear ratios for each trans.

80mph in 5th gear = 4000rpm = GSR

80mph in 5th gear = ~3600rpm = LS
